LED lights have a significant lower power than bulb lamps and behave electronically completely different. The on-board computers of most vehicles are designed to work with trailes which are equipped with bulb lights. As a result there might be various problems. The traffic safety is not ensured any more! To make trailers with LED lights compatible with towing vehicles, an additional device is required (LK2000). This device ensures the correct monitoring of direction indicator light according to ECE-R48 also in case of LED lights and simulates for all other light functions (stop, tail, fog, reversing light) a load comparable with bulb lights.
